সরকারি শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বাংলাদেশ মেরিন ফিশারিজ একাডেমির ক্যাডেটদের বাণিজ্যিক জাহাজে চাকরির অনুমতিপত্র—সিডিসি দেওয়া বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে সরকার। তবে বেসরকারি প্রশিক্ষণকেন্দ্রের স্বল্পকালীন কোর্স করা ক্যাডেটদের তা দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
অভিযোগ রয়েছে, বাণিজ্যিক উদ্দেশ্যে গড়ে ওঠা বেসরকারি মেরিটাইম (সমুদ্র পরিবহনবিষয়ক বিদ্যা) প্রশিক্ষণকেন্দ্রগুলোকে ব্যবসায়িক সুবিধা দিতে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে সমুদ্র পরিবহন অধিদপ্তর। এতে মেরিন ফিশারিজ একাডেমির (এমএফএ) ক্যাডেটদের তিন বছরের স্নাতক ডিগ্রি মূল্যহীন হয়ে পড়েছে।

Marine Fisheries Academy will reopen on 27 September after three and a half months although the stalemate over Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) and other issues still remain unresolved.

The authorities closed the academy for 15 days after driving the agitating cadets out of the campus with the help of police on 14 June.

Meeting/Party will be held on 23rd September,2011 at 1600 Hrs.

A Meeting/Party is going to be started at our association office building in Chittagong On 23rd September,2011 at 1600 Hrs.

 
All Executive Member's of Ex-cadet Association is requested to attend that event.

107.            Seaman to be in possession of Continuous Discharge Certificate
(1) No person shall engage any Bangladeshi seaman at any port or place in Bangladesh, nor carry to sea from any such port or place any such seaman in any ship, except a coasting ship of less than two hundred tons gross so long as such coasting ship is employed on voyages confined to ports or places within Bangladesh, unless the seaman is in possession of a Continuous Discharge Certificate issued in Bangladesh by a Shipping Master in a form approved by the Director-General of Shipping or such other document as may be prescribed.
